We are absolutely thrilled to share the news that Millburn Primary School are the 2024 Mullan Cup Champions! In a huge day of football, which involved 20 local primary schools, our squad of players gave it their absolute all throughout seven extremely challenging games.

Millburn finished as runners up in their group following two victories, a draw and a loss. A quarter final against St Colum’s PS was the reward and having led the game 3-0, Millburn were pegged back to 3-3 after a dramatic ending to the game. A period of extra time couldn’t separate the sides and so it went down to a penalty shootout. The Millburn boys held their nerve from the spot and a semi final against DH Christie, a very strong team who had beaten Millburn during the group stages, awaited. The semi final performance was probably the team’s most complete performance of the day and a 4-0 victory clinched Millburn a place in this year’s final. The final was an exciting game against a talented Portstewart PS and although Millburn found themselves trailing 1-0 at half time, our boys showed tremendous desire and skill to hit back with three second half goals and in doing so bring the Mullan Cup back to Millburn.

This triumphant squad was absolutely outstanding today and we just couldn’t be any more proud!
