May 2024 - Coleraine Community Schools’ Cup Champions
We are so thrilled and extremely proud to share that, today, the Millburn PS P5 football team won the Coleraine Community Schools’ Cup at Coleraine Showgrounds.
Having finished top of their group, winning 4 games and drawing one, without conceding a single goal, the Millburn lads were paired with a talented St John’s PS team in the semi-final. This was a highly entertaining game and it took just a single Millburn goal for our lads to secure a place in this afternoon’s final. After a tense final against an excellent team from The Irish Society’s PS, played at an electric pace, both teams were unable to be separated and so the game went to a dreaded penalty shootout. The Millburn players held their nerve and recorded a narrow victory, sending the team and large Millburn support into celebration mode. A special mention to Leo for picking up today’s Player of the tournament award picked by former Millburn PS pupil and current Coleraine FC player, Lyndon Kane.
We were delighted to be asked to enter a second Millburn team into today’s competition. This team was made up of mainly P4 pupils and they too represented their school brilliantly by giving it their absolute all and enjoying the experience of proudly representing their school for the first time.
A huge thank you to all at Coleraine FC who helped organise and deliver such a brilliant competition for all players.
Such a proud day - well done to all our players who were terrific ambassadors for their school as always!
